What is HelpingaHero.org?
HelpingaHero.org is a Texas based 501(c)(3) that builds specially adapted homes for our severely wounded heroes injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are the #1 organization in Texas building homes for our wounded heroes and the 2nd largest in the nation. They are the only organization building homes for our wounded heroes with NO PAID STAFF!!!
100% of the funds raised by Queens for Troops will go directly into a home for one of our wounded heroes. Their goal in providing homes to our wounded heroes is to provide an adaptable home tailored to the specific needs of our wounded to include wider doors, lower countertops, roll in showers, roll under sinks, accessible backyards, etc. These homes will equip our heroes to transition successfully into their local community and to provide the tools they need to succeed in life.
To date, they have awarded 51 homes and have completed 26 homes (22 in Texas) for wounded heroes including triple amputees, quadriplegics, paraplegic, blind, double arm amputee, severe Traumatic Brain Injury, several double amputees and burn victims. They currently have homes underway in many Texas cities including: San Antonio, Ft Worth, Cedar Park, Frisco, TX, The Woodlands, Jones Creek and LaMarque.
